Locate the recapitulation and exposition. Find the development. Is there an introduction or coda? Where does the coda begin? Identify the principal modulations. (Look for important authentic cadences.) Locate the first and second themes. Find the transition between the first and second themes. Is there a closing theme? If so, where does it begin? Is there a transition between the second theme and the closing theme? If so, where does it begin? Identify the principal thematic material in the development. Does the development end with a retransition? If so, where does it begin?
