• Melodic Dictation of Familiar Tunes
• Dictation of Familiar Major Triad Excerpts — I play, we sing on “dah”, I play again, and we sing with solfège.
• 1 to 5 and 5 to 1 Dictation — I play, we sing on “dah”, I play again, and we sing with numbers.
• Go to auralskills.net and click on the Exercises tab and choose melodic dictation. Work on levels 1 and 2.

For Real, the melodies will be

• in a major key,
• entirely diatonic, and a
  1. 4-bar phrase (See Melodic Structure.) and an
  2. 8-bar parallel period. (See Melodic Structure.)

    The melodies will also only use stepwise motion and leaps restricted to do, mi, and sol.
