We traveled to Germany in 2011. Because international travel is usually expensive and brief, I did not want jet lag to waste any of that precious time. I decided to acclimate myself to Central European Time before we departed.

It worked! (My family thought I was crazy.) Though Germany is 7 hours later than America's Central Time, shifting 5 hours was successful for me.
